What is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)? Applied Behavior Analysis is a science devoted to the understanding and improvement of human behavior

"ABA is the science in which tactics derived from principles of behavior are applied systematically to improve socially significant behavior and experimentation is used to identify the variables responsible for behavior change" (Cooper, Heron, and Heward, 2007)

HTA of NY uses the principles of ABA for service provision with some of our clients. All HTA of NY ABA services have the oversight of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). Our ABA service providers objectively define and select behaviors of social significance and demonstrate the reliability of their interventions using the collected data. Dependent upon the skills being taught, both discrete trial and natural environment teaching techniques are utilized.
